How to share memory between ChatGPT and Claude — carry a decision forward
You decide on a direction in ChatGPT, then explain it again in Claude. If you use both, this can become a recurring chore. Save the decision in a shared record, and ask Claude to read it before continuing. This article shows how to carry one decision forward with AccountHub shared memory.
This article was prepared by the AccountHub operator using public features and official documentation. The work examples illustrate the process.

Shared memory
This is a concept diagram for reading and writing decision notes. It does not automatically synchronize the full ChatGPT and Claude conversations.
A record shared by one person's assistants
Shared memory is separate from ChatGPT's built-in memory. Connected assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Claude Code can read and write it as that person's record. It does not automatically share team conversations or another person's assistant history.
What AccountHub does
AccountHub lets you use multiple Gmail accounts, Slack workspaces, calendars, and Drive accounts through your usual assistant. Shared memory is one of its features. You might decide how to approach a proposal in ChatGPT, then work on its outline in Claude. AccountHub gives you a place to save that decision and retrieve it when you switch.
A connected assistant saves a record, and another assistant retrieves it. Do not assume that the second assistant knows conversations that were never recorded. Check what was saved and what was retrieved.
For a one-time handoff, paste a note
Before connecting another service, try summarizing the decision and pasting it into Claude. A local text file is enough to keep a copy. You must copy it again for later handoffs, but you choose exactly what to share. The following is an illustrative note, not a reported user result.
Goal: Outline a proposal. Decision: Lead with the customer's problem and our solution, rather than a feature list. Next step: Suggest an outline that follows this direction.
Set it up first
- On a computer, sign in to AccountHub and connect ChatGPT and Claude to AccountHub separately. The connection URL is shared; the permission is linked only to the AccountHub account that approves it.
- Add an instruction to each assistant's custom instructions asking it to check and record AccountHub shared memory. Connecting a tool alone does not make an assistant write memories by itself.
- Connect Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, or other services separately, only when you need them. Signing in to AccountHub does not connect those services by itself.
Save one decision with ChatGPT
Start by saving just one decision. For example, ask ChatGPT:
For the proposal, we decided to lead with the customer's problem and our solution, rather than a feature list. Save that in shared memory.
Read the same decision with Claude
Next, ask Claude to read the saved direction before suggesting an outline. Check that its answer includes the decision to lead with the customer's problem and your solution. Then check whether the outline follows that direction. If the decision changes, record a correction.
